HDRX-068-H2
A certified, flight-weight hydrogen storage cylinder for fuel-cell UAVs and hydrogen R&D programmes: ≈160 g of usable H₂ in a 2.8 kg tank, certificate issued to EN ISO 12245:2022, CE marked, built on our sealed liner with no measurable permeation — also available as the helium twin HDRX-068-HE. Development is complete; the first production batch ships mid-September.

A certified 350 bar hydrogen cylinder you can actually buy at R&D quantities.
The HDRX-068-H2 is a Type IV composite overwrapped pressure vessel (COPV) purpose-built for hydrogen: a polymer liner for permeation control inside a full carbon-fibre overwrap, holding 6.8 litres of water volume at 350 bar — about 160 grams of usable hydrogen — in a tank that weighs 2.8 kg empty. That gravimetric ratio of 57 g H₂ per kg of tank is what turns a fuel-cell powertrain from a science project into a flight-time advantage.
Unlike most flight-weight hydrogen tanks on the market, this one arrives with its paperwork finished: the certificate to EN ISO 12245:2022 is issued and the cylinder is CE marked (CE covers the 6.8 L and 40 L H₂/He models; certification of the larger sizes is pending), so your safety officer, insurer and logistics chain get a document set they recognise. It fills at the 350-bar (H35) tier used across hydrogen mobility, mates to common regulator threads, and ships in single units for fuel-cell UAV programmes, hydrogen R&D benches and demonstrator vehicles alike. Not sure it’s the right size? Compare the full COPV range or run your airframe numbers in the mass & performance calculator.

One cylinder, two very different missions — the common thread is weight-critical hydrogen with paperwork your programme office will accept.
Fuel-cell UAVs & drones
Battery endurance is the wall every multirotor and fixed-wing programme hits. Hydrogen moves it:
→ ≈ 2.5–2.9 kWh electric through a typical PEM stack
→ the same electric energy in Li-ion cells alone would weigh ≈10–13 kg — this tank, full, weighs under 3 kg
At 158 mm diameter it packages into most 25 kg+ airframes, and 350 bar — the H35 refuelling tier used across hydrogen mobility — packs more gas into the same envelope than legacy 300-bar designs.
Hydrogen R&D programmes
For fuel-cell test benches, demonstrator vehicles and lab-scale hydrogen systems, the blocker is rarely the stack — it’s sourcing a certified, transportable cylinder at prototype quantities without a 40-week automotive procurement cycle.
- Certificate issued to EN ISO 12245:2022 — a document set your safety officer and insurer can sign off.
- Transportable — fill it at your gas supplier, move it between bench and vehicle, ship it between sites.
- Prototype-friendly quantities — order one, or reserve a batch; no platform-programme MOQs.
- Thread flexibility — mate it to your existing regulator or develop the pair with us.
Working toward vehicle homologation? Start with the regulatory landscape: EC79 was repealed in 2022 — here’s what replaced it, and EN 17339 explained.
How long would it fly on your aircraft?
Set your platform’s continuous electrical power draw — the estimate updates from this tank’s real ≈160 g H₂ capacity.
Tank-energy estimate: ≈160 g H₂ × 33.3 kWh/kg (LHV) × stack efficiency ÷ your power draw. Excludes fuel-cell stack and regulator mass — for full system-level trade-offs run the mass & performance calculator.

Flying it? Pair it with the HDRX-R450 hydrogen regulator.
A cylinder is half the fuel system. The HDRX-R450 fuel-cell drone regulator is designed for exactly this class of tank — or we develop and validate the cylinder–regulator pair together so integration risk is ours, not yours.
