Custom High-Pressure Regulators for Aerospace, UAVs & Space Applications

MEYER designs and manufactures lightweight, custom high-pressure regulators for hydrogen fuel-cell UAVs, CubeSat propulsion modules, and orbital launch vehicles. Where stock regulators fall short on mass, inlet pressure, or interface compatibility, we engineer to spec.

Custom regulator development

Off-the-shelf regulators rarely fit aerospace and space-grade missions. We design custom regulators to your inlet, outlet, mass, envelope, and qualification requirements:

  • Inlet pressures: up to 700 bar
  • Outlet ranges: 0–10 bar standard, custom on request
  • Materials: 316 SS, hydrogen-compatible alloys, materials qualified to avoid hydrogen embrittlement
  • Configurations: single-stage, two-stage, dual-output, manifold-integrated
  • Interfaces: M-thread, NPT, AN, custom flange, bring your spec
  • Qualification: hydrostatic, burst, leak, cycle, vibration as required by your program

Lead time

  • Working prototype: 3–5 months from spec freeze
  • Qualified flight unit: per program requirements
  • Production batch: on request

Where MEYER regulators fit

MEYER builds high-pressure regulators for two primary use cases: fuel-cell hydrogen mobility (the HDRX-R450 family, 450 bar inlet, 0–10 bar outlet) and aerospace propellant feed (custom designs up to 700 bar inlet, configurable outlet). Both are engineered for hydrogen-compatible service with 316 SS bodies and elastomers selected for the gas in service. Configurable single- or two-stage regulation lets the design match the application’s thrust precision requirement: single-stage for cost-led mobility, two-stage where outlet pressure must remain stable across full blowdown.

Configurable parameters

  • Inlet pressure: 200, 350, 450, 500, 700 bar
  • Outlet range: 0–1, 0–5, 0–10 bar (or fixed setpoint)
  • Stages: single (lower mass, lower cost) or two-stage (tight outlet stability)
  • Body: 316 SS standard; custom alloys (titanium, Inconel) on request
  • Gas service: H2, He, N2, O2 (with cleaning to ASTM G93), Xe, Ar
  • Connections: M-thread, AN, VCR, custom flange

Lead time

Functional regulator prototypes from spec freeze: 3–5 months. Qualification testing and flight-unit production scheduled to programme requirements. For programs targeting first integration in under 4 months, start with a HDRX-R450 catalogue unit configured to your fitting and gas service.
