Hydrogen — fuel-cell UAS & weight-critical systems

A MEYER cylinder for hydrogen stores up to 161 g of H₂ at 350 bar in the 2.8 kg HDRX-068-H2, and up to 948 g in the 40 L HDRX-400-H2 — CE marked to EN ISO 12245:2022. Every -H2 part number is built on the MEYER sealed liner: no measurable hydrogen permeation, verified by helium leak detection, with no metal-fatigue cap on cycle life. Pre-orders are open on the 6.8 L and 40 L models.

Helium — the gas that normally escapes

Helium permeates standard polymer liners faster than any other industrial gas — which is why helium systems have long defaulted to heavy metal cylinders. The dedicated -HE range keeps helium stored in full-composite cylinders from 0.5 to 40 L (120 L and 350 L in development) with π, CE and ISO 11119-3 approvals — for satellite pressurant, tracer-gas rigs, lighter-than-air platforms and research. STANAG / MIL — non-magnetic for EOD & MCM

The -MIL configurations are non-magnetic builds aligned with STANAG 2897 (AEODP-7) Class A procurement for EOD/MCM diving — from the 0.55 kg HDRX-008-MIL upward. EU origin, ITAR-free.

What is a Type IV composite cylinder (COPV)?
A composite overwrapped pressure vessel with a polymer liner and full carbon-fibre structural overwrap — the lightest cylinder construction available, typically a third of the weight of steel, with no metal liner to fatigue.
How much hydrogen can a composite cylinder store?
At 350 bar and 15 °C: about 161 g in the 6.8 L HDRX-068-H2 (2.8 kg cylinder, 5.4% gravimetric) and about 948 g in the 40 L HDRX-400-H2 (18 kg). Use the H₂ / Grav. column above for every model.
Do composite cylinders leak helium?
Standard polymer-lined cylinders do — helium permeates polymers faster than hydrogen. MEYER -HE and -H2 models use the sealed liner, showing no measurable permeation in qualification, verified by helium leak detection.
What approvals do the cylinders carry?
Depending on family: π (TPED 2010/35/EU), CE, ISO 11119-3 and UW ratings; hydrogen models carry CE to EN ISO 12245:2022; -MIL models are non-magnetic STANAG 2897 Class A configurations. Each row above shows its badges — hover them for the exact standard.
Can I order a cylinder with a custom safety factor?
Yes — for R&D and qualification-by-project programs, use the Safety Factor control above: working pressure is derived as burst ÷ SF (burst = 3 × catalog WP, fixed), and quotes carry a -SF part-number suffix, e.g. HDRX-400-HE-SF2.5. Derived ratings are engineering configurations, not certified ratings.
